Dakota Playscapes is a division of DakotaScapes, which was started by Jon Sundvold in 2005 as a landscape design/build contractor and as holiday lighting service provider for the Sioux Falls area. In 2015, after serving on an elementary school playground committee and after being involved in other commercial playground projects, DakotaScapes entered into the commercial playground industry as a dealer and installer. We saw a need, specifically in Sioux Falls and South Dakota, to be able to provide a local representative to serve our community with safe and durable playground equipment. Our areas include South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Wyoming. With 5 young kids of his own, Jon frequently relies on them as “professional” playground design consultants. The unique thing about Dakota Playscapes, because of our previous design and construction experiences, is that we not only just sell playground equipment but we also provide installation services and site preparation services all under one roof of operation.
